Pick up on peoples joys
pick up their faintest smiles
never mind what goes on
in their quiet whirling minds
Pick up on those smiles
Some bare a deeper pain
Some of unschooled delight
Some others even insane
And when you come across
Laughter’s or simple smiles
Go uninvited, get in the act
Before intelligence arrives
Like there’s peace in silence
it’s there in busy-ness too
If you focus on yourself
without selfish anguish and rue
Its mad men who are happy
Coz they don’t worry & think
Indulge, express, love and live
Embracing falls, even as they sink
Sleeping under open skies
Beaten bodies sore skins
Whose more broken, are they?
or we with minds like bins
So pick up on simple joys
No matter where they are
Our hearts have many doors
Unlatch, unlock, leave them ajar
