‘And let the dead leaves drop…’

‘And let the dead leaves drop…’

I longed for this

an embrace a kiss

that warm sunlight

oh what a sight!

its golden hue

And the morning dew

on this old big tree

what a sight to see!

As I watched it close

felt alive I suppose

Took a long deep breath

& pondered over death

Not with sadness though

Neither fear or so

Pure presence and still

‘in the moment’, if u will

Death made me realise

we let moments capsize

by our pasts and sorrows

or worry-filled tomorrows

With eyes then sodden

felt joy long forgotten

sensed a new dream knock

I let the dead leaves drop…
